Term 6- Is adapting always the right thing?
We are heading into the dizzying heights of the Alps in Term 6! Prepare yourself for needing to adapt to the harsh environments of one of the world's most famous mountain ranges, where dreams are reached but also, lives are lost.
English
During Term 6, we will be reading 'Holes' by Louis Sacher based on the misfortune of a young boy who has to adapt to his new life. We will use VIPERS to explore the story. In writing, we will be writing list poems based on the poem 'Ten Things in a Wizard's Pocket', short descriptions based on images from the beautiful picture book 'The Arrival' and finally a persuasive brochure based on 'Holes'.
Maths
This term in maths, we will be taking part in various different projects where we put our knowledge from the year to the test, bringing together different skills! To begin with, we will be using ratio, the 4 number operations and money when looking at the Whiterose Bakery!
Big Question Lesson
This term our big question is 'Is adapting always the right thing?' We will focus heavily on this from a geography point of view, looking at the Alps and focusing on Mount Everest and whether our ability to adapt in order to climb it is a good thing or not.
