Bromstone Primary School
Introducing our new topic
To introduce our new concept question ‘What makes a good place to live?’. The children drew, coloured and/or painted a scene of their choice which represented an environment. Some chose to include a message about the important of looking after our environment.
As our whole school concept question is based on the environment, we decided it would be nice to grow our own cress! We looked at what cress needed to grow and what environment would be best suited for them. We can't wait to watch it grow.
In the afternoon, we went outside our classroom and discussed what our area looked like. The children noticed that it was becoming over grown and didn't look as clean and tidy as they wanted it too! The children used the litter pickers, brooms and some brought in gardening gloves and tools and worked hard! We discussed how over the next few terms we will look at growing different plants outside and will be working on a project to make it look as good as possible!
