Term 1- What adventures have you been on?

Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been lovely to meet all of you during the home visits, and we would like to thank you for the warm welcome. If you have any questions, worries, or concerns, please speak to the class teacher or our EYFS Phase Leader. It gets very busy at the gate, so if we don't get to speak to you, you can always get in touch via Tapestry or email.
This term, our question is: What adventures have you been on?
We will be exploring different types of adventures through some lovely stories:
- The Colour Monster, Ruby's Worry, Once There Were Giants, We're Going on a Bear Hunt, Hansel and Gretel, The Runaway Train, Whatever Next.
We will be using Drawing Club by Greg Bottrill to immerse children in the story world.

At Bromstone, we use the Little Wandle Scheme to teach phonics. You can find more information about it here: https://www.littlewandlelettersandsounds.org.uk/resources/for-parents/ . We are currently covering the Autumn 1 sounds.

In Maths, we follow the White Rose scheme. Please visit their website https://whiteroseeducation.com/ and refer to the Parent Information tab to find out more. We also use Mastering Number https://www.ncetm.org.uk/maths-hubs-projects/mastering-number-at-reception-and-ks1/ to support children in subitisig- recognising small amounts by sight.

We will be using Tapestry to create your child’s Learning Journey, so please look out for an activation email. If you have not received one, please speak to Mrs Urban. You are all very welcome to post photos and videos of any “wow moments” that your child might have at home on Tapestry, as we would love to see them and talk to your child about them.

We are looking forward to a busy and fun Term 1!
