Forest School
In order for a child to fully participate in Forest School, it is essential that they have the necessary items of clothing available to them and we ask that parents/guardians ensure that the following are provided before their child attends the first session of Forest School.
A pair of Wellington boots or old trainers, a pair of socks Sturdy pants, like jeans Knee-length shorts (summer) A fleece or long-sleeved coat A pair of gloves (for the winter months) A woolly hat or sun hat (depending on the weather) Waterproof.
We recommend wearing old clothes during the Forest School sessions, as children tend to get muddy and wet. It's important to make sure children have layers as even in the summer months the weather can get cold quickly, especially in the woods. Having long-sleeved tops and pants also helps protect against nettle stings, bramble stings, and insect bites.
On forest school day, we ask that children come to school dressed in their forest school clothes and MUST bring a spare pair of shoes/clothes in case they get muddy or wet.
If you do not have spare shoes/clothes, you will NOT be able to participate in the forest school.
